the first version of Fox that i wrote. kind of a dumb song loosely about attempting to hold oneself accountable for actions made in relationships.. this song has been in my brain for a while but was pretty much written just to have something come out of that glockenspiel hit at the end of Everything Aside. funny that i ended up liking this song more. the newest version of Fox came out on volume 1 of Pacific Nature's Start Thinking About Someone Else comp and will probably be on my next album. the epilogue is just nonsensical messing around with sample instruments and is kind of superfluous but still fun to me so whatever.
lyrics
there's nothing you can say to bring it back
you've strayed away and now you're trapped
between the ones who claim to love you and those who do
don't be so distraught
get out of your box
and run just like a fox
everything i've done and i have yet to do
won't justify the way that i have treated you
and everything will be construed if you come back
but you forgot everything that we've begot.
someday i'll hear a knock,
you'll push me down then say that you can not,
and then you'll run just like a fox.
